1. When did you start teaching?
I started teaching in the 2006-2007 school year.
2. Why did you start teaching?
I tutored high school students when I was younger and thought “if I’m good at that, why not try teaching?”
3. Do you have any hobbies?
Yes. Soccer, piano, snowboarding, and cycling.
4. What is your favourite book?
The Hobbit because it introduced me to fantasy.
5. What is the most embarrassing thing to happen to you in a school?
Performing a hip-hop version of Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star at the school talent show.
6. What is the most interesting /exciting thing to happen to you in the last decade?
Becoming an uncle.
7. What is your favourite teaching subject?
The human body in science.
8. Did you have a favourite teacher when you were in school?
Mrs. Beames because she taught me the “wolfbucks” system and started me enjoying maths.
9. What is your favourite place to go to relax?
A coffee shop called Melriches because I enjoy the atmosphere and like supporting non-chain establishments.

1. When did you start teaching?
I started teaching when I was 22 and took a short break when my children were young.
2. Why did you start teaching?
In high school I was a swimming instructor and I enjoyed teaching so I decided to become a teacher.
3. Do you have any hobbies?
I have been dragon boating for 10 years and I paddle and steer on my team. I also enjoy skiing and hiking.
4. What is the most embarrassing thing to happen to you in a school?
When I realised that I had a long sock stuck in the leg of my pants after they had been in the dryer and I pulled it all the way out in front of the class and it kept coming and coming and coming...
5. What is your favourite book?
My favourite book is “To Kill A Mockingbird” because I read it as a teen and as an adult and liked it both times and when I was a teen it made me think about racism for the first time and it changed the way I think about things.
6. What is the most interesting / exciting thing to happen to you in the last 10 years?
When I went on a whale watching tour and I saw a lot of whales. They are such big creatures!
7. What is your favourite teaching subject? Why?
I like teaching art because I like watching what children create. I also like it because so much variety can come out of one assignment.
8. Did you have a favourite teacher when you were in school? Why?
Mrs. Hatto because I knew her as a teacher and a neighbour and it was interesting how in school she was strict and outside of school she was nice.
9. What is your favourite place to go to relax?
My favourite place to relax is in bed with a book.
